You cannot choose parents and country. But you can choose to help a tiny person in need who will love you all their life…and you will feel much, much better! I did.
]]>Going back 10-15 years feels like living in the stone age. If you told me in 1995 I could have 50 mbit/s broadband speed and a 2TB hard drive was getting replaced by the next monstrous drive, not to mention processor speed and RAM amounts, I would have told you were having a laugh. Most reasonably thinking men would have done so.
I remember my pride and joy being a 64 kbit/s ISDN business internet connection from BT. It had 2 channels that could get bonded and offer me 128 kbit/s speed. Unfortunately I never found out how to do that. Downloading data with 8 Kb/s was impressive enough.
I can’t even think about where IT is going to be in 5 years time, let alone 15. It’s interesting though.
]]>Hold on minute - your cleaner came 2 days ago to do the weekly domestic cleaning. That’s it! She must have stolen it!!!
The next minute you are calling the cleaning company to claim you have been stolen from. Easy.
You sound extra pissed off on the phone and do not even think for a second that you or your partner might have put your item in a different place.
You list a ton of reasons why the cleaning firm must fully compensate you, cleverly mentioning the fact that the cleaner was 15 minutes late for the initial meeting one year ago…
You expect to be fully compensated because the client is always right. No matter l what the truth is. Fullstop. At least this is what you friends told you.
They compensate you.
Couple a weeks after you find your top under a pile of stuff…
Would you call to apologise and return the money paid to you, after you remarkably successfully blackmailed the poor cleaning firm with threats to submit negative reviews on the Internet?
]]>Wow! This is the richest man in the world. Well, actually the second richest currently, after he gave half of his sixty something billion dollars fortune to charity.
Enough said. You start thinking now… ![]()
P.S. His favourite book was “How To Make Friends And Influence People” by Dale Carnegie. Got it yesterday. Top read.
